The Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2020 is an elegant and structured red wine from the renowned Montepulciano wine-growing region in southern Tuscany. The basis is the Sangiovese clone Prugnolo Gentile, which makes up at least 70% of the blend - supplemented by regional varieties such as Canaiolo or Colorino. Maturation takes place for at least 2 years, of which at least 1 year is in wooden barrels - for “Riserva” awards it is even 30 months in wood plus 6 months of bottle aging. Dhe year 2020 was characterized by hot, dry conditions with occasional summer thunderstorms, resulting in grapes with ripe fruit, a concentrated bouquet and an elegant structure. The wine impresses with an intense ruby red, delicate floral notes and flattering tannins - a balanced, elegant profile with excellent aging potential. A great wine with a lot of potential.
The story of Cantine Dei begins in 1964 when Alibrando Dei acquired the first vineyard near Montepulciano. Maria-Caterina Dei, his granddaughter, has been running the family business with a lot of charm and foresight for over 25 years now.
