We are four partners who share a common passion, the love of Bella Italia and good taste. With Casa 8 Ettari we have realized our dream of bringing Italian joie de vivre, excellent wines and selected gourmet products to Switzerland. The name reveals our roots, as “8 Ettari” stands for eight hectares, which is how large our partner’s winery is in Tuscany.
There are people with history behind Casa 8 Ettari. Hans Heer, founder of casa8ettari, brought the vision and the network to Switzerland. Hans Peter Poli is our wine and grappa specialist, whose experience shapes the quality of our wine range. Manfred and Andreas Kunert are the owners of the winery in Tuscany, winemakers with heart who put their passion into every bottle.

Good food played a central role in my childhood. Growing up in my mother's restaurant, we were always able to enjoy freshly cooked food and special specialties. This impression stays with me to this day.
Early on I developed a special relationship with Italy, with the people, with the culture and of course with the great food. The Italian way of life fascinates me then and now, because there, eating is not an obligation, but pleasure and culture at the same time.
When I think of the famous olive oils, the diverse pasta varieties and the excellent wine, I immediately feel this fascination. Throughout my professional career I have worked in many areas of the food world and Italy has always been my most important companion.
Over the last 30 years, I have been able to work and help shape the company as managing director, CEO and director at renowned establishments such as Globus Delicatessa, the legendary Harrods Food Halls in London and one of the largest gourmet food chains in New York City. These stations allowed me to deepen my knowledge of exclusive foods and build a unique network. On countless trips to Italy, I specifically sought contact with small manufacturers and craft businesses that passionately produce great products.
