Properzi - sweet craftsmanship since 1893
The story of Properzi begins 1893 in L’Aquila, in the heart of the Italian Abruzzo. There the Properzi family opened their first small workshop for torrone and fine confectionery. The focus was on the soft torrone, a traditional specialty of the city: a honey-rich mass with nuts that cools between two thin, white wafers and is then portioned.
From this workshop a confectionery developed that still relies on handcrafted production today. Time is a crucial ingredient: preparing the torrone mixture takes up to six hours. The slow processing and the skill of the confectioners give the sweet specialties their special character.
Over the years, the range has been expanded to include new Torrone variants. In addition to the classic varieties with almonds and hazelnuts, creations with chocolate, pistachios or coffee are also created. Panettone, Pandoro and chocolate specialties are also part of the production. The connection with L'Aquila and the confectionery tradition of Abruzzo remains an integral part of the brand.
